Colombo Necklace

This dainty pendant necklace mimics the motifs included in the design of the staircase at St. Bridget’s Montessori School in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Geoffrey Bawa was known for never repeating design elements and that included his staircases. Every single staircase he designed was wholly unique.

This necklace features a half an inch pendant on a 15.5" chain. It is designed to gently rest right below the collarbones. If you would like a custom length, please include a note at checkout. Each necklace is made by hand, to order. Please anticipate a 2-4 week processing time.

About Geoffrey Bawa -   

Deshamanya Geoffrey Manning Bawa (1919-2003) was a Sri Lankan architect. He is best known for his involvement in Modernist Theory and as the father of the Tropical Modernism style. Bawa had a delicate way of combining traditional and modern principles that paid homage to his local environment. His designs were enormously influential and had an impact on a whole generation of urban Sri Lankans.
