Eid-ul-Adha 2020
My earliest memories around jewelry all involve Eid. When I was little, preparations for every Eid would including going and picking out jewelry to match our brand new Eid outfits. For so many years, Eids were the two times a year I would get new jewelry. I have memories of being around 5 years old and picking out some painted ceramic dangle earrings in the BX at RAF Mildenhall for Eid that year - those were my first 'grown-up' earrings. I still have them and love them dearly.
Eid was such a big part of my life growing up and no one else really knew what it was. Especially growing up in the military. Now that I'm an adult, I want to make sure that the little Muslim children growing up now see Eid celebrated around them. That the world shares in their joy and happiness.
To start with - I will release a limited edition piece every Eid. This year Eid-ul-Adha is roughly July 30/31st so I'm making a crescent moon hair barrette or hijab pin/brooch.
